Our second child has been practicing his reading and requires a lot of assistance and attention sounding out his syllables. With our size family that attention comes at a premium. So we have settled on our first product!
My wife has set her mind to building early reader picture books that we will later record audio packs for to assist with pronunciation. I am racing to build the mobile software and server stack to support this product. I suspect she will win the race with her first book anyway. Maybe we'll share a couple electronic books in the meantime.
Our first milestone is to digitize the books and record the sounds that each word makes. The reader will be able to tap each word they are struggling with and hear the first sound. Repeated tapping would repeat the sound until a minimal amount of time unlocks the next sound. Eventually, every sound could be heard followed by a final complete word pronunciation.
The question is what do we call this product?
